🎯 Essential Question
- How do we celebrate and reflect on a full year that took us from the yearbook through real client work for the school?
📈 Learning Objectives
By the end of this lesson (2 Days), students will be able to:
- Present at least one studio job to an audience (classmates, staff, or family) at a showcase.
- Reflect in writing on their growth across the full year -- from the analog/onboarding grades through real client production.
- Identify a specific next step (a class, a program, a job) connected to what they learned this year.
📐 Standards Alignment

- CDOS 3a — Universal Foundation Skills -- basic literacy, communication, and problem-solving skills required for a career.
- CDOS 3b — Career Majors -- knowledge and skills required for success within a specific career pathway (here, Digital Design).

🧠 Do Now (Warm-Up)
If a staff member, a family member, and a future employer each looked at your portfolio, what would you want each of them to notice most?
📋 Main Workshop / Lesson Sequence
This lesson spans 2 Days. Suggested pacing:
| Day | Focus | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Prepare | Do Now (5 min, above): which studio job are you most proud of? Independent prep (30 min): select 1-2 studio jobs to present and prepare a short showcase presentation. Rehearse (10 min): rehearse with a partner. |
| Day 2 | Showcase & Reflect | Do Now (5 min). Showcase (25 min): present at the year-end showcase. Written reflection (15 min): write a final reflection on your growth across the year and identify a specific next step. |
✅ Assessment & Exit Ticket
Showcase presentation + final reflection reviewed for genuine, specific evidence of growth across the year.
Exit Ticket: What is one specific next step -- a class, a program, or a goal -- you're taking from this year into what comes next?

🧩 Differentiation & Accommodations
English Language Learners: model every step live, then check in one-on-one; provide translated materials and vocabulary support as needed. Students with IEPs: apply the accommodations and modifications listed in each student's plan (examples include extended time, graphic organizers, speech-to-text tools, chunked instructions, and visual schedules). Students with attention-related needs: break tasks into short, checklist-driven steps and provide brief movement or focus breaks. Students ready for a challenge: take on a leadership role critiquing peers' work, extend the project with a second iteration, or research how today's skill is used professionally in the field.
